What is soya?

The Chinese have been using soya for thousands of years as a source of protein and for its other nutritional properties. It comes in thousands of varieties, the most common being the one that gives us yellow soya beans.

The plant takes between 150 and 200 days to grow in hot and humid climates. The plant itself reaches a height of around 80 centimetres, has small white or purple flowers that create pods that yield between 1 and 4 beans.
The wholesomeness of soya is contained in the almost spherical beans. The yellow beans that go into all of the Belsoy products are rich in healthy proteins, fibres, oil and minerals. In fact, all the essential elements you need for a healthy diet.

Soya is grown in many parts of the world. But we mainly source it in Canada, China and Brazil, but not in the Amazon rainforest.
